This hack uses a community reporting system to track admin participation in forum threads.
Adminspotting does the following:
- If a thread has been started by admin, its links on the thread lists appear with orange text.
- If a thread has an admin post in it, you'll get an orange star at the left of the thread's entry in the forum pages, and a "jump to post" link at the right. Clicking the "jump to post" link will open up a little box that lists the pages with admin posts on them.
- In a thread, an admin's post will have a pale orange background, rather than the usual blue, grey, or white.
- If, as you browse, you read a page that has an admin post on it, Adminspotting will report it to etsyhacks.com
- Periodically (not more than once every ten minutes), Adminspotting will ping etsyhacks.com and get an updated list of admin posts.
We can't know which threads have admin posts in them until someone running Adminspotting reads them. If a thread is marked as having an admin response, then it has at least one. The list may not be complete, though. If a thread is not marked, then it may have an admin response that no-one running Adminspotting has seen.
IMPORTANT: If you use the Forum Wrangler hack, you must upgrade to the latest version of Forum Wrangler. The latest version has changes to make it work properly with Adminspotting.
Privacy note: Adminspotting reports information to to etsyhacks.com; this information is limited to a thread ID and a page number - it does not report any of your personal information.

- Install Firefox and Greasemonkey if you haven't already got them. You'll need to restart Firefox after installing Greasemonkey.
- If you're running forum wrangler, install the latest version.
- Once Greasemonkey is installed and running, follow this link (or click on the orange "install" button above).
- The "adminspotting" script will be downloaded, and Greasemonkey will ask if you want to install it. Assuming you trust me, click "Install".
- Go to the forums - Adminspotting will download the Admin post data.
- Browse the forums, and admin'd threads will start getting highlighted.
