Install

When you're viewing your own items, this script adds a link to create a new listing based on the content of the existing listing.

Note: this hack doesn't duplicate the photos associated with the listing. Doing that would be difficult. Maybe in a future update.

Privacy notice: When you go to copy a listing from the Your Etsy page (rather than the View Listing page), this hack gets information from the Etsy API by way of a service running on etsyhacks.com. It's not accessing or sharing any private data, but since the requests are shop-specific I could, if I were very, very bored, use the access logs to see which shops are using the hack. If that bothers you, please don't use this feature of the hack! Copying from the View Listing page gets all the listing information from the listing page itself, and so does not share any information with etsyhacks.com.

installation and operation
  • Install Firefox and Greasemonkey if you haven't already got them. You'll need to restart Firefox after installing Greasemonkey.
  • Once Greasemonkey is installed and running, follow this link (or click on the orange "install" button above).
  • The "copy listing" script will be downloaded, and Greasemonkey will ask if you want to install it. Assuming you trust me, click "Install".
  • Log in to Etsy, and view one of your items, and there should be a link to "copy listing" in the "page tools" section at the right of the page.
  • Click the link, and you'll be taken to a new listing page, and as you click through the pages, it should fill in the details for you.
  • You can also go to Your Shop and click on the "copy" link from there. Copying this way won't copy shipping information, unfortunately.

If you click the "prev" link and go back to an earlier page in your listing, any changes you've made to the listing details will be preserved.
