Install

This hack periodically checks etsyhacks.com for any new or updated Etsyhacks, and then displays them on screen with links to the hacks' pages.

Note: this hack will notify you of updates to any hack, not just ones you've installed (it can't determine what you've installed, so it just shows everything). The first time you run it, you'll have to click the red "X" buttons next to each hack to remove it from the list.

installation and operation
  • Install Firefox and Greasemonkey if you haven't already got them. You'll need to restart Firefox after installing Greasemonkey.
  • Once Greasemonkey is installed and running, follow this link (or click on the orange "install" button above).
  • The "etsyhacks updates" script will be downloaded, and Greasemonkey will ask if you want to install it. Assuming you trust me, click "Install".
  • Go to any page on etsy.com - the hack will check back with etsyhacks.com
  • The first time it phones home, it will list all the current releases. Click on the "x" buttons to remove the ones you're not interested in (or click on "hide all updates" to quickly clear the list). After that, it will phone home no more than once per hour when you're using Etsy.
  • If you want to check for updates immediately, you can click on "Tools > Greasemonkey > User Script Commands > Check for Etsyhacks updates".
